I can't believe our time together is coming to an end. While dismantling our NXT robots, we will make sure that we have all of the NXT parts. Students will go to www.nxtprograms.com to investigate our next build. We will group up by robot interest for our next build.
Every Monday from 9:30-11, I pull my Kindergarten GT students to work on thinking skills. They are like little sponges and soak up everything that is said during class. Before Spring Break we read, Not a Box by Antoinette Portis. We observed how the character imagined the box as a rocket ship, a mountain and a burning building. We created our own page for the book Not a Stick and then we read the book. What creative answers! I introduced the game Blink to my students. What a great family game. I found it during my HEB shopping trip. It can be a fast paced visual game where two players race to be the first to play their stack of cards. The next time we see each other we plan to play a game or two to practice. Each game is supposed to last for about 2 minutes but I find that it takes about five minutes until both players get good at it.
